What products are pre-orders?
Custom wax stamps, custom pre-made seals, and custom colour wax sticks are all pre-order items.
How do I use sealing wax?
There are two main methods to use sealing wax:
Using wax beads:
- Using a sealing wax stove, and sealing wax spoon, melt 2-3 wax beads in the spoon over the wax stove until melted.
- Using the spoon, pour onto the envelope or silicone mat in a circular shape. Place the spoon on a plate and use extreme caution as it will be extremely hot.
- Select your desired stamp and press onto the melted wax and leave until wax is hardened
- Remove stamp, outline if desired with metallic marker
Using wax sticks:
- Place the wax stick in a low temperature glue gun.
- Once the glue gun is heated according to their instructions, dispense the desired amount of wax onto the sealing surface.
- Select your desired stamp and press onto the melted wax and leave until wax is hardened
- Remove stamp, outline if desired with metallic marker
Use extreme caution when handling wax, tools and tea lights as surfaces will be extremely hot. Keep in sight and away from flammable objects and children/pets
What is the difference between wax beads and wax sticks?
Wax beads are great if you are creating a low quantity of seals and are interested in marbling colour combinations.
Wax sticks are perfect if you are creating a high number of seals with a single colour as it quickly melts the wax for use and is more consistent at dispensing.
What are pre-made seals?
Pre-made seals are wax stamps that have already been created with a custom design with a 3M adhesive sticker on the back. This saves time if you require a large amount of seals as you can simply stick them on invitations, envelopes or whatever you intend on sealing.
We offer some of our original designs and colours online, as well as pre-orders for custom seals in all of our colours.
How do I clean my spoon?
Very carefully! Using a paper towel, carefully wipe away excess wax while still warm. If your wax has hardened head it for a few seconds over the wax melting stove and attempt to try to wipe the wax again carefully.
Why is the bottom of my spoon turning black?
This is natural after using a spoon for wax sealing as it is directly over the candle. This will not impact your ability to seal wax. You may be able to rub off some of the excess with a paper towel. We offer our sealing spoons at affordable prices if you wish to replace your spoon.
What are your stamps made of?
Our stamps all have brass heads with rosewood handles.
It is normal for brass to tarnish over time when exposed to oxygen. You can clean your stamp heads with a brass polishing cloth frequently and my limiting handling of the head directly.
